Ya’ll I had so much fun throwing this epic party! I absolutely love decorating, planning and executing parties… Why wasn’t I a party planner??!!! For real, though! October 27th, the date of the release, seemed like so long to wait after watching the first season almost a year ago, but we made it and it was so worth the wait! Dave and I had some of our closest friends over to watch and we asked everyone to bring an appetizer and any drinks they would want and to wear 80’s fashion or come as one of the Stranger Things cast.  We ate lots of goodies ( probably too many) and began watching the second season! But since we are so old, or at least felt that way, we only viewed  2 episodes and decided called it a night. BUT  in our defense, the party began at 8pm and we didn’t really start watching until 9 something, so by the time we called it a night, it was already 11:30ish. I don’t know about anyone else, but I like to be in bed by 10pm on most nights and so staying up an hour in a half to 2 hours longer is crazy.

So here are some things that you most definitely need if you’re going to be throwing a Stranger Things party!!!!

1.You must have Eggo Waffles.. I mean it is a MUST! They are Eleven’s favorite and its so much fun to have a Waffle bar.

2. Creepy spider webs, or black fabric to create the Upsidedown.

I always save a lot of things and I bought some spider webs for another Halloween party I threw a couple years ago and they worked great for yesterdays party. I found mine from Target, but I know Walmart had some this year as well! I also got the black fabric from Target and you’ll see a picture of this further down the page.

3. Old Fashioned Christmas lights to create the look and feel the living room in Joyce’s house.

I absolutely love these Old Fashioned Christmas lights! Dave and I like to hang them outside our porch to make it more festive, once it becomes December. We already had one strand since we like to decorate with them, but we bought a couple more for this party. We got them from Target for like $9.

4. Fabric and paint to create the alphabet wall Joyce uses to communicate with her son.

The easiest place to pick up a lot of great items cheap is your local goodwill or a thrift store. Dave and I went out last weekend on a search for some floral fabric that we could use to create a look of floral wallpaper on our walls. We got really lucky and were able to find the perfect floral print sheet that would do the job. I chose to use Tempera paint because it is easy to use and if you make a mess, really easy to clean up. I would suggest buying the Tempera paint at Hobby Lobby or Michaels because you will get more for your money.  Knowing that I only had smaller bristle brushes, I went ahead and bought a set of three bigger paint brushes to help and I am so glad I did… the paint brushes worked so well and I got down WAY quicker.

5. Missing posters for Barb and Will.

I had a hard time trying to find these posters since I am cheap and wanted them for free. I actually made most of my signs by hand, but I happened to come across a couple and used those too.  I also made some more signs below for the walls and for the photo op!
