Joy

This week has been a lot better than some of the previous weeks, but the thing that changed the most was my mindset. I started my day in God’s word and I asked that He would help me see him in the day to day things and that I would focus my attention more on the small joys than the frustrations… It worked! God allowed me to be able to see the best parts of my job and my day… there were still frustrations, but I did not allow those things to steal my joy!

Joy is something that can be found on a day to day basis, if you allow yourself to tap into it. When I am joyful, everything seems to work better, things are easier, and I enjoy my life a whole lot more. But here’s the deal… Joy is not based on the exterior things… it is based on internal. Happiness is external… it is based on situation, events, people, places, things… it is connected to your hopes and dreams. Joy is found when we sit back and look within… when we let God do.

Reading online about Joy, I ran across an article that said this about joy: ” Joy comes when you make peace with who you are, where you are, why are, and who you are not with. When you need nothing more than your truth and the love of a good God to bring peace, then you have settled into the abiding joy that is not rocked by relationships. It’s not rocked by anything. ” – Sandra L. Brown

Amen… Amen… Amen!!!!!! Truth right here folks!

Sandra L. Brown’s article ” Joy-VS- Happiness…. Yes!!!! Take a look… Such great advise!

It has taken me a long time to figure these things out, and I am still no where close to where I want to be or who I want to be, but I am on the journey toward more Joy! Allowing God to take the broken pieces of my life, the failed plans, the messy situations, the things out of my control, I am being rejuvenated and renewed.

Here are some verses to encourage you… If you are trying and trying and you are never fully satisfied… Give it to God… He will bring you Joy!!!

” If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in your, and that your joy may be full.” John 15

I delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. Isaiah 61:10

Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. John 16:24
