Dave and I had a wonderful time celebrating Easter this afternoon with our closest friends! Our friends Kel and Cat hosted the Easter gathering this year for our friend group- this has become one of our traditions. With many of our immediate family’s far away, my friend, Cat decided 4 years ago that she would be in charge of putting together Thanksgiving and Easter Dinners for all of us. It has always been a fun time to get together with the group, eating, chatting, and celebrating together. This year Kel and Cat joined forces in hosting and both planned, cooked the ham and Cats mom’s famous corn- casserole, and decorated. It was a fabulous time! And not only was it great company and a great feast, but we all got HUNT EASTER EGGS!!! In those 5-10 minutes all 18 of us became little kids again, racing up the stairs, frantically searching and finding getting complete joy when eggs were found.

Upon getting home, I did my 15 min clean around the house to tidy up a bit after the fast paced weekend. It is clean to start the week!!! But there was a closet of gift bags and tissue paper which needed some attention. I don’t know how I let the closet get so bad!!!! I don’t know about you, but I have a problem with keeping too many things and thinking that I may need to use them “someday” or I may want to wear it “someday”- Key word is someday! The top shelf of the closet in the hallway has been packed with a multitude of gift bags from Christmas presents, birthday presents, and special events, and tissue paper that hasn’t been sorted through in a couple years…. take a look
YIKES… WHAT A MESS!!!!
As I went through all the bags, I laughed at some of the bags that I saved… these were not from gifts that I had received, but instead they were bags from stores that I had purchased items at and I KEPT THEM…. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!!! Because I most definitely need to keep my house of blues bag, a Starbucks bag, a bag from Bath and Body works and a couple bags from Victoria Secret (This was not all of the bags, but it was ridiculous.) (sarcasm)lol.
Also- I don’t know why I didn’t think about organizing the bags by their purposes over the last couple years- It makes a lot of sense. Instead of getting upset that I can’t find the particular bag that I have in mind because it is a complete disaster, now it should be a whole lot easier. Okay- Are you ready to see the final product of organizing all the bags?!!!
YAY!!!! IT LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER!!! ONE BAG IS FOR CHRISTMAS BAGS, ONE IS FOR BIRTHDAY BAGS, AND THE OTHER HAS TISSUE PAPER!!!!!
Out with all of the unnecessary bags, bags from purchases and ripped bags!!!! Next time I have a party to attend, It will be a lot easier to find the perfect bag for the occasion!
